For eleven years, Oakley Farrell has been silent. At the age of five, she stopped talking, and no one seems to know why. Refusing to communicate beyond a few physical actions, Oakley remains in her own little world.
Bullied at school, she has just one friend, Cole Benson. Cole stands by her, refusing to believe that she is not perfect the way she is. Over the years, they have developed their own version of a normal friendship. However, will it still work as they start to grow even closer?
When Oakley is forced to face someone from her past, can she hold her secret in any longer?
Opinion:
"Silence was my prison"
Must read for psychological thriller fans. Author portrayed the struggles and Traumatic experiences Oakley endures during her captivity. In this book, it's evident that Oakley is haunted by her past and struggles with nightmares and trsut issues. It clearly shows how her abduction have an long lasting impact on her. The writing style is so good that it keeps me hooked right from the very start.

A small princely state in Rajasthan is the last bastion of resistance against the might of the British Empire. While unrest surrounding the sudden death of the king of Devangarh grows, young prince Rudra Pratap Chauhan prepares to ascend the throne.
But the kingdom is in turmoil. The Devangarh army is outnumbered and the British forces are closing in. To make matters worse, Rudra discovers the king’s death may not have been accidental after all. The strange appearance and disappearance of a mysterious hooded stranger and a series of ritualistic murders in which the bodies have been drained of blood, spread panic across the realm.
As Rudra struggles to manage his new responsibilities and investigate his father’s death, dark secrets will be uncovered that will disrupt life as he knows it.
Review:
Book is smartly written, Composed in a style that is easy for everyone to read. From beginning to the end, the details are laid out without dragging on with every description of the action bringing to mind an instant image. Over three hundred pages flies by in no time! But the beginning of the story is somewhat slow paced but at the end it makes us to turn the page in high speed.
Rudra pulls you so deeply into his world of demons, gods and creatures. The story deals with darkness, Demons, God, Evil, Walking dead, the age-old struggle between good and evil, which drag me to the edge of my seat and makes my heart race with excitement. Twist and turns make for a compelling don't- you- dare-put-me kind of read.
The plot is intricate and twisted but never confusing. It is fundamentally a story build on darkness surrounded by demonic creatures and possessions. Action packed and very well written. It delivers a nonstop entertainment with uniquely interesting walking dead elements. Unexpected twist at the end should give this book a shot and it'll be well worth it.
You can feel yourself pulled towards the darkness in this book!
