Book Description:

*Heliconia Lane was a spot of heaven until you discover the secrets that lay behind its closed doors.*

It was crazy really, for Darya to think she could have some peace and quiet at Heliconia Lane. Yes, it was located in a beautiful corner of South Goa—by the beach, no less—but after her Aunt Farideh disappeared twenty years ago—from this very place—nothing has been the same again. And now her uncle was dead under bizarre circumstances as were two of the neighbours on his street.

What was happening? Was there a murderer on the loose? Why were people dying? Was it connected to her aunt’s disappearance in some way?

And most importantly, was Darya going to be next?

A cozy, Agatha Christie-style whodunnit, Kiss of Salt introduces Darya Nandkarni, an amateur, and accidental detective, who is clever, spirited, resourceful, yet troubled and vulnerable. Her adventures will make you laugh, cry, gape, and marvel, and you won't be able to put down the book until you've solved the mystery along with her in the beautiful side-streets of Goa.

Review:

An exciting, suspense packed read. Characters and their personal issues are very realistic. Story is rich with well developed characters. It's a real page turner. The story grabbed me in such a way that it was difficult for me to leave the book alone.

Background description, character interaction and exciting action scenes all are well-balanced and it made me feel like the time i spent is worth it. Descriptions of the place were truly marvellous.
It was very well written, the kind of mystery which keeps me glued to the pages wanting to know how it ends. They were plenty of twist and turns in the plot to keep me guessing.

There were several important secondary characters which is strong and well developed. You can immerse yourself in all the different scenarios and have no difficulty following these complex and ever changing situations. You are compelled to keep reading till our female protagonist finds out the answers for her questions and person who is behind all those deaths.

Cover of the book is eye capturing and grabs the reader. Writing was crisp and the story extremely creative one. I thoroughly enjoyed this. This one mystery where both plot and characterization are equally strong.

The Red Herring

The Red Herring - Book Review Title : The Red Herring Author : Raghu Sarma Pages : 212 The story starts with the murder of Devan Singhal. Later upon investigation, both his mother and father were found to be murdered. Investigations were carried out by DCP Malik and his crew.  DCP Malik and his team try to uncover the truth behind this murder, but every answer reveals a new set of questions. And as secrets and lies are exposed within the close-knit people, the mystery becomes deeper, precisely speaking more darker and more complex, wasn't expecting this kind of story in the start.  The  investigation team in this novel were very engaging, that made this book as un-put-downable. It's like One of those murder mysteries that you're not quite sure about but ends up growing on you very much by the end.  There are a multitude of characters here to keep track of. The book is rich in detail, sometimes a little bit too much. The first thing that struck me about th...
