Review:

The book revolves around Nina, a prostitute by profession. It's a series of diary entries where Nina shares her life events, her emotions and the people around her. This reads like someone is speaking to you in person, and you simply couldn't put this down until it ends. This book was extremely touching. I felt the author handled the subject matter well and delibers a great message.

While reading it, I couldn't help but think about the murders that happening around because of someone couldn't control his/her horrible thoughts. In the beginning, when the book flases about deaths of women, Nina felt utmost fear what if she's the next target, as living in a independent country every woman can relate to her. Some of her thoughts were unabashed perspective of reality for many young women in this world.

The story narrative type is unique and so intensely painful, at once both heart wrenching and heartwarming. There were some passages that brought tears to my eyes and others that made me smile. Some of the scenes were so poignant.

The characterizations are drawn well giving the reader insights into the lives of everyone in this book. The characters' emotions are bought to life and the readers can feel their pain and fears as well as their joy and happiness.

The author explores the social issues, attitudes toward people with disabilities, especially those of a mental nature, as well as physical and emotional abuse of women and recovery from childhood traumas.

Readers who are easily bothered by sensitive topics should know that they are really the driving force of the plot here. In my opinion, the story was written well. The characters, the emotions, the storyline everything is handled well.

The book demands a certain amount of empathy which becomes clear the more you read, the more the tragic. I finished the book with the unquenchable need to just hug and comfort this main character. This is a story that needs to be heard. This book just sucked me in completely. So I ended up giving it the highest rating.

Rating : 10/10

Author Interview - Russell Gaynor

Exclusive Q/A session with the Author of The Mind of the Man-child,  Russell Gaynor Hello and Welcome everyone!  Today, we have the honour of hosting an author interview with Russell Gaynor. Thank you for joining us, and let's dive into this enriching author interview together! 1. What motivated you to become a writer, and when did you know this was what you wanted to do? The blame falls to my grandmother and her invaluable integrity. Around her, if you couldn’t do a thing, don’t say otherwise. One day, a very young boy wanted to watch Mighty Mouse instead of her preferred black & white movies, and he made the claim he could write better stories with one hand tied behind his back. To her credit, she did NOT tie my hand behind me, but she did provide a stack of pads and a box of pencils before saying, “Prove it!” I was passing the halfway point of the second pad (keep in mind, I was 5 and my words took up three lines!!!) when she picked up the first one and star...
